Why ForgeHost

Fully managed

Your own dedicated Forgejo instance — set up, hardened, updated, and monitored for you. No shared multi-tenant box, and no server for you to run.

Hosted in the EU

Your instance and its backups run on servers in the European Union, under EU and German data-protection law. Nothing leaves the region.

Your data, your backups

You get direct access to your own encrypted backups. Cancel and we email you a full copy before anything is deleted — leaving is copy-and-go.

Honest pricing

One clear price per plan. No per-seat traps, no usage surprises, and a commitment never to raise your rate once you have signed up.

Simple, honest pricing

Monthly, in euro. Cancel any time. The price you sign up at is the price you keep.

Questions

What is Forgejo?

Forgejo is an open-source Git platform: repositories, issues, pull requests, releases, and built-in CI, similar in shape to GitHub or GitLab. It is community-run free software. ForgeHost installs, runs, updates, and backs up Forgejo for you, so you get the platform without operating a server.

Can I get my data out?

Always. Every repository is standard Git, and issues, pull requests, and wikis export in Forgejo’s documented formats. You also get direct access to your own backups. Leaving is a copy-and-go, not a support negotiation.

What happens if ForgeHost shuts down?

You would get advance notice, a full encrypted export of everything, and time to move. Because it is plain Forgejo on plain Git, whatever you export runs on another Forgejo host or your own server. The business is not built on locking you in.

Where is my data stored?

On servers in the European Union, operated under EU and German data-protection law. Backups are held with a separate provider, also in the EU. The specifics go in the Datenschutzerklärung.

How do I cancel?

From your account or by email, any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then stops — no notice period, no cancellation fee. Export your data whenever you like, before or after.

Will my price go up?

Not for your account. The price you sign up at is the price you keep for as long as your subscription stays active. If list pricing for new customers ever has to change, existing subscriptions stay where they are.

Who runs ForgeHost?

One person, for now — a solo founder doing the hosting, the maintenance, the security work, and the support. The pricing transparency page is honest about what that means and where your money goes.

Do you look at my code?

Only when you ask us to for support, or where it is strictly necessary to operate and secure the platform. Nothing is used to train anything, and nothing is shared. The formal version lives in the AVV (data-processing agreement).

Ready when you are

Move your repositories to a managed home in the EU — and let someone else run the server.
